There are few places left in our world which reward so thoroughly those of us
who quest for a sense of paradise. Clean air and water, a small population, a
sense of community.
A place where the value of a person does not depend on their monetary wealth
or punctuality. Where your neighbor feels comfortable living personal
philosophies ranging from the worship of Mother Earth to a personal relationship
with Jesus. Where the only thing not tolerated in a community is intolerance.
Where art flourishes in each individual.
Place this communal spirit in a rural valley surrounded by two national
parks, isolate it in a corner of New Zealand and border it by innumerable sandy
beaches and you will have created Golden Bay.
