These are pictures of the Takaka Valley from the top of Marble Hill. Notice on the right in the composite picture below how the road snakes down the hill. This is the only road into Golden Bay so you can see why Golden Bay is isolated from the rest of New Zealand.

The valley lies between Kahurangi National Park which can be seen across the valley and Abel Tasman National Park which begins on the foreground hills.

Upper Takaka Here can be seen the small village of Upper Takaka. The rest of the valley is pasture lands and small farms. You will find sheep, cattle and deer grazing here.
